PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County School District is receiving statewide recognition for its programs aimed at connecting students with future careers.
The Georgia Department of Education has designated Paulding County Schools as one of six Economic Development Partnership Districts in the state in recognition of its career-focused programs.
Jana Stegall with Paulding County Schools said the designation validates the programs and opportunities the district has put in place for students.
“This is just validation that the programs, the support, and all of the opportunities that we have in place for our students are going to help them succeed,” Stegall said.
Career education begins in kindergarten in Paulding County Schools. Stegall said students have access to several programs as they explore their options for the future.
“We have youth apprenticeship opportunities, we have work-based learning opportunities, many career explorations including a career expo,” Stegall said.
Stegall said the district went through an evaluation process to make sure its programs were providing students with the opportunities they need.
“This was really an evaluation process for us that we wanted to undertake to make sure that we were giving our students the quality opportunities and experiences that they needed to lead them into high demand careers after graduation,” Stegall said.
Stegall said the district is pleased to receive the designation and believes it shows Paulding County Schools is on the right track to help connect students with future careers.
