Metro Atlanta city warns residents after woman attacked while exercising at night

SENOIA, GA — Police are searching for a man accused of attacking a woman who was exercising near downtown Senoia Sunday night.

Police say the woman was walking for exercise along Travis Street around 10 p.m. when a man approached her from behind, grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman was able to fight off the man and get free before he ran away.

As the search continues, city leaders are urging residents to avoid being outside alone after dark. The city recommends having a partner when exercising or walking at night and taking other precautions to protect themselves if necessary.

Police are asking anyone who was near downtown Senoia around the time of the attack, including the area near the post office, railroad tracks or Gin Street properties, to contact them if they noticed anything odd or suspicious.

The police department says it is “all hands on deck” for the investigation and is using every available resource to find the suspect.
