DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A behavior support specialist in Suwanee has been charged in a 31 count indictment over Medicaid fraud and false statements and writings.
49-year-old Melissa Howard, who owned Behavior Solutions, LLC., claimed to provide behavioral therapy planning and therapy for autistic and disabled persons in group homes and home services.
While traveling out-of-state, she submitted claims for treatment she did not provide for her patients, resulting in a more than $40,000 loss to Georgia Medicaid.
Dr. Howard faces 16 counts of Medicaid fraud and 15 counts of false statements and writings.
Attorney General Chris Carr said the investigation is ongoing and no other information is available at this time.
