ATLANTA — An investigation is underway after a 24-year-old man was shot and killed in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on Fairburn Road. When officers arrived, they found a man who was shot to death.
The identity of the victim was not released.
According to Atlanta Police Lt. Christapher Butler, “only thing I’m going to say is there are multiple suspects.”
During the investigation, Atlanta Public Schools say a nearby elementary, middle and high school were briefly placed on lockdown due to the shooting. All students are safe, officials said.
Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department homicide unit are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
