DEKALB COUNTY, GA — DeKalb County police are asking for the public’s help locating a 21-year-old man accused of stealing ATVs from people he connects with through social media.
Investigators say Jordan Wright is wanted in connection with at least three separate theft cases, although they believe there could be additional victims.
According to police, Wright contacts people selling ATVs on social media and arranges to meet them in person. Once at the meeting, he asks to test drive the ATV before leaving with it and cutting off communication with the seller.
Police believe Wright was armed during each of the reported incidents.
Last Friday, officers searching for Wright responded to a home on Pleasant Point Drive, where they believed he had barricaded himself inside.
A SWAT team entered the residence and recovered a gun, but Wright was not found.
Wright is facing charges of theft by taking.
Police are urging anyone who sees Wright to use caution and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.
