Historic meth bust in metro Atlanta has ties to MS-13

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — The largest meth bust in Cherokee County history leads to the seizure of 200lbs of methamphetamine valued at $500K.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says it represents a significant blow to a drug trafficking operation with known ties to El Salvador, Mexico, and the violent MS-13 street gang.

The seizure follows a lengthy collaborative investigation between local, state, and federal partners targeting a criminal network responsible for distributing large amounts of meth throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Charges are pending, but the names of the suspects have not been released yet.
