Hall County man dies in ‘freak accident’ on homemade zip line, sheriff says

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia man was found dead over the weekend after what Hall County deputies believe was a freak accident involving a homemade zip line.

Deputies were called out to a home on Whitmire Circle around 1 p.m. on Oct. 21.

When they got to the home, they found 58-year-old Stephen Reeves entangled in rope in the middle of the zip line, hanging several feet from the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe he had been dead less than 24 hours.

It’s unclear why Reeves constructed the zipline.
