Fire investigators said they were quickly able to determine no residents were in the house, but neighbors informed them there could be a dog inside.
The single-family, split-level home had flames showing and it took some time to put the fire down according to the fire department. They said a crew went inside the house while the fire was being extinguished and they found the family pet, a golden retriever.
Fire department officials said the on-scene rescue unit was able to provide the pup a pet oxygen mask to help it recover from breathing in all the smoke.

Fire officials said the Red Cross came out to the scene to help the family of two adults and two children along with their dog as the house was severely damaged.
Investigators were able to figure out the fire was accidental and had started on the back deck of the home before spreading inside.
