Gov suspends Hart Co Commissioner

Suspension is immediate

Governor Brian Kemp has suspended Hart County Commissioner RC Oglesby: Oglesby, along with several family members, is facing indictment on charges that include racketeering. He was arrested earlier this year in Hartwell.

From an executive order issued by Gov Kemp…

Oglesby does relate to and does adversely affect the administration of the office of Commissioner, that the rights and interests of the public are adversely affected thereby; and recommended that R.C. Oglesby be suspended from office pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. § 45-5-6.

“Now, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED That Mr. RC. Oglesby is hereby suspended from office immediately and without further action pending the final disposition of the case, or until the expiration of his term of office, whichever occurs first, as provided in 45-5-6(c).”
