FBI data shows where Georgia ranks in violent crime

ATLANTA — Georgia saw a drop in violent crime from 2024 to 2025, according to new FBI data.

FBI’s Marlo Graham says homicides alone declined more than 18% during that time.

Crime fell by 6% from 2024 to 2025, FBI officials said.

“Although there has been a significant reduction in crime, there is much work to be done. The work is still there and we need to continue to focus on how we can make our neighborhoods safe for everyone,” Graham said.

Nationally, the FBI says violent crime fell more than 9% overall from 2024 to 2025.
