Georgia is getting fewer spam calls, but the problem isn’t going away

Spam call complaints in Georgia have dropped compared to a few years ago, but the state is still seeing thousands of reports of unwanted calls.

More than 400,000 spam call complaints were logged in Georgia over the past five fiscal years.

In fiscal year 2025, complaints were about 38% lower than in fiscal year 2021, when Georgia residents filed more than 100,000 complaints. More than 89,000 unwanted calls, ranging from sales pitches to imposter scams, were reported in fiscal year 2025.

Georgia also remains above the average state nationwide for unwanted calls.

SMS Pool says increased use of call-screening features could be contributing to the decline in complaints. Many phone companies now offer settings that allow users to silence unknown callers or require callers to provide a reason for calling before the phone rings.
