WASHINGTON, D.C. — A member of the Georgia National Guard deployed in Washington, D.C., is facing two felony charges after police say he pulled a gun on a fellow Guard member during an argument.
Metropolitan Police say 21-year-old Zion Mitchell and a female Guard member were on a break and sitting in a van outside a restaurant when the incident happened last month.
Court records show the two were arguing about hairstyles and whether they met Army regulations when Mitchell allegedly drew his gun and pointed it at the female Guard member.
No one was hurt.
Mitchell is charged with two felonies in connection with the incident.
Georgia has the second-largest contingent of National Guard members deployed to Washington, D.C., after the president cited out-of-control crime there.
