All lanes of Ga. 400 back open after tractor-trailer catches fire in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A portion of Ga. 400 was shut down for hours during rush hour Thursday morning.

Sandy Springs police had most of the northbound lanes highway shut down near Pitts Road after a tractor-trailer carrying what appears to be construction equipment caught fire.

As of 10:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened.

Video shared with our partners at Channel 2 Action News shows the cab of the tractor-trailer completely engulfed in flames.

Police say the tractor-trailer became overheated and caught on fire. Luckily, no injuries have not been reported.
