G20 meeting brings road closures to Midtown Atlanta this weekend

ATLANTA — Several streets in Midtown Atlanta will remain closed through Sunday afternoon as the city hosts the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting this weekend.

The meeting is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Loews Hotel Conference Center, where U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be joined by dozens of foreign ministers.

Rubio described Atlanta as “the perfect backdrop for these discussions.”

According to the Atlanta Department of Transportation, the following road closures will remain in place until noon Sunday:

  • Juniper Street: Between 13th Street and 11th Street
  • 11th Street: Between Peachtree Street and Juniper Street
  • 12th Street: Between Peachtree Street and Juniper Street

Drivers traveling southbound can use Peachtree Street and 10th Street to reconnect with Juniper Street.

Atlanta DOT says detour signs will be posted to guide motorists around the closures.

The streets are scheduled to reopen at noon Sunday.
