FULTON COUNTY, GA — Fulton County School District leaders are considering a rezoning plan that could impact hundreds of middle school students.
The proposal could change attendance zones for Camp Creek, Sandtown and Renaissance middle schools. All three schools feed into Langston Hughes High School.
A newly built Camp Creek Middle School is expected to open next year with greater capacity. District planners are considering shifting students from Sandtown and Renaissance middle schools and redrawing boundaries to better balance enrollment among the three schools.
Langston Hughes High School hosted the first of three scheduled public input sessions Wednesday night, giving parents an opportunity to weigh in on the proposed changes.
Two more meetings with parents will be held before a final recommendation is made.
A possible decision could come in December. If attendance zones are changed, the new boundaries would not take effect before the start of the 2027-2028 school year.
