FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — A 16-year-old student at a metro Atlanta area high school is facing charges after a gun was found inside his book bag.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was removed from the Flowery Branch High School classroom and later released to authorities.
The teen, whose identity was not released, is charged as a juvenile with carrying a weapon within a school safety zone.
Investigators do not believe the student planned to harm anyone.
