DECATUR, Ga. — DeKalb County police say a man has died after being arrested outside a Decatur Burger King Saturday afternoon.
Police said an officer was at the Burger King drive-thru on Evans Mill Road around 3 p.m. when a man started striking and pounding on his car. Someone alerted the officer that the man was also trying to enter his car.
Police said they found the man in a nearby vacant lot and called an ambulance because he was displaying erratic behavior. Police said he damaged a police car.
Several more officers also responded to the scene to assist in detaining him.

The suspect was taken to Emory hospital where he died. The suspect's name has not been released.
The Georgia Department of Investigation has been called in to investigate.
