Dekalb County raises salaries for first responders, medical personnel

The people involved in keeping you safe in Dekalb County will see more money in their paychecks come November.

Dekalb County CEO Michael Thurmond tells WSB Radio "it's a recognition that we appreciate the work that they do."

The pay increase is four percent for Police, Fire, 9-11 Operators, members of the SWAT team, and those who work in the Medical Examiners office.

The money comes at a good time, right before Christmas. Thurmond tells WSB "These salaries will be in the paychecks

of our men and women in uniform in the 1st pay period of November 2018."
