ATLANTA — A couple was arrested and charged in connection with the death of an infant.
Atlanta police say officers responded to a home along Mary George Avenue in May 2026 and found the infant unresponsive.
The infant was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead, officials said.
The investigation led to the arrests of 32-year-old James Hayes and 31-year-old Kennedi Ponder.
Hayes is charged with 2nd degree murder and several child cruelty charges. Officials say Ponder also faces child cruelty charges.
