Consumer expert Clark Howard has an alternative to those high cable bills

Think you are paying more for cable television? WSB consumer expert Clark Howard says, you are right!

Traditionally cable companies have been known to raise rates but Howard says, "this year the increases seem larger to me than they've been in recent years."

Overall, cable companies have increased prices about 53 percent over the past 10 years.

“They're canning paid T.V. that's traditional from a cable company, phone company or satellite company and are instead using streaming services.”

"It's because so many people are cutting the cord, Howard said.

He says streaming is generally about a third of the cost of paid T.V. from the traditional providers.

If you want to save money, Howard says switch to streaming. His favorite is YouTube.TV. Its $35.00 a month and offers unlimited DVR. Of course, the only truly cheap TV service is an old fashioned antenna.
