Construction delayed for Roswell’s Gateway Project

The controversial Roswell Gateway Project that would widen a stretch of Atlanta Street, also known as Georgia 9, is now expected to start in Spring 2026.

Atlanta Street is a major commuter route with a reversible center lane and is used to travel further into north Fulton or south into Sandy Springs to access Georgia 400.

The project would widen the road from 3 to 4 lanes. It would also include roundabouts and a new turn lane extending from the Chattahoochee River up to Marietta Highway at the Roswell Square.

The three-year delay comes amid increased cost.
