Cobb jury convicts man with connection to murder-for-hire plot

COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County District Attorney Sonya Allen says a jury has convicted a man of criminal solicitation to commit murder in connection with a 2021 murder-for-hire plot.

On January 30, 2021, Mylea King reported an armed robbery at her home, where she runs an at-home nail care business.

A customer who’d made an appointment on Instagram for King’s at-home nail salon, arrived, left, and then returned to her home with masked men who assaulted and robbed her.

Police later arrested two men, including 38-year-old Samuel Etuk.

Police say while in jail, Etuk offered an inmate with ties to the Aryan Brotherhood $10,000 dollars to kill King. The inmate told police, who then set up an undercover sting leading to further charges.

A Cobb County jury found Etuk guilty. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. A co-defendant pleaded guilty to his part in the crime and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Allen is grateful to the team that worked on this complicated case.
