COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County has selected a finalist for its next police chief, and it’s a familiar name within the department.
The county manager is recommending Interim Chief James “J.D.” Ferrell for the permanent position. Cobb County Commissioners are set to vote on the recommendation at their October 14 meeting.
Ferrell has been serving as interim chief since April, following the retirement of former Police Chief Stuart VanHoozer.
