COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County residents now have another option for applying for a passport as a new passport services office opens Monday.
The facility, operated through the Cobb County State Court Clerk’s Office, will provide in-person passport services for first-time adult applicants and children under 16.
State Court Clerk Tahnicia Phillips says the new service is intended to meet increasing demand as the county continues to grow.
“It’s been challenging with a growing county and we felt like this was the time to be able to provide this new service to the residents of Cobb,” Phillips said.
The office will focus on first-time passport applications rather than renewals.
“We will open our doors to first time adult passport applicants and children under 16. We will not process renewals in person, those will be done online,” Phillips said.
Phillips says the additional location will make passport services more accessible to county residents.
“We are just adding access and convenience, and excellent customer service to the residents of Cobb to be able to get their passports and travel more efficiently,” Phillips said.
Appointments are required for passport services at the new office.
