COBB COUNTY, GA — Accessory dwelling units and data centers are among several proposed code amendments Cobb County commissioners will hear Tuesday.
One proposal would revive plans to allow accessory dwelling units, or ADUs. The county previously withdrew proposed code changes allowing ADUs in 2024 following citizen protests.
Commissioners will also hear a proposal to create an ordinance governing data centers. Cobb County is currently under a moratorium on considering data centers until February.
Under the proposed amendments, data centers would be required to use power generated off-site and would be limited to a maximum size of 30 acres.
The Board of Commissioners will also hear proposed code amendments involving economic development, alcoholic beverages and zoning.
No votes are scheduled during Tuesday’s work session. The board is expected to consider the amendments for action in October.
