Cherokee County deputy jumps into hole to save baby deer that had been stuck for days

A Cherokee County deputy went above and beyond the call of duty Thursday morning, helping to rescue a baby deer.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said the fawn had fallen into a hole at a construction site in the Carmichael Farms subdivision.

Investigators believe the deer had been in there for a couple of days before anyone called for help.

As soon as Bass put the fawn on the ground, it ran off into a nearby wood line.

In a video posted to the Facebook page of the sheriff’s office, it shows Cherokee County Deputy Addison Bass jumping in the hole without hesitation to scoop up the fawn and get it to safety.

As the Facebook post said, it’s “never a dull moment.”
