ATLANTA — An active investigation is underway after a body was found inside a burned apartment in Atlanta.
Atlanta Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire in the 1700 block of Stanton Road. The fire was contained to one unit by the time firefighters arrived.
Inside the apartment, firefighters discovered the body of an unidentified person with apparent burns.
Atlanta police homicide investigators were called to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation remains active.
