VIDEO: APD officer calmly takes down bank robbery suspect walking down street

ATLANTA — It didn’t take long for an Atlanta Police officer to track down a man accused of robbing a bank on Greenbriar Parkway on July 26.

Within minutes after the alarm at the Wells Fargo Bank at 2841 Greenbriar Parkway went off, police arrived, searched the area quickly and found their suspect.

Harvey then allegedly ran out the door and down the street, away from the bank.

Investigators say 21-year old Jabrell Harvey walked up to the teller just after 1:30 p.m. Monday and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied with the demand and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to Harvey before activating a silent alarm.

A short time later, police found Harvey in the 3200 block of Continental Colony. Atlanta Police posted video of the arresting officer’s encounter with him as he walked down the street.

The officer calmly took Harvey into custody without raising his voice and just carrying on a conversation. He was able to recover the stolen money from Harvey’s possession.

Harvey was transported to the Fulton County jail and is facing one charge of threat by intimidation.
