ATLANTA — The college football season is set to kick off in Atlanta on Saturday when Howard University and Alabama A&M meet.
Ahead of the game, students at South Atlanta High School had the chance Thursday to learn about career opportunities in the sports industry.
John Grant, executive director of the game, said the program gives students an opportunity to see potential career paths and connect with people working in the industry.
“They got an opportunity to hear from people who are developing themselves and their careers that they saw a path forward that they can see people like them,” Grant said.
Grant said the school is also receiving funding through the initiative.
Students met with representatives from ESPN, HBCUs and corporate sponsors during the seminar.
