Athens adds sites for early voting in DA runoff

Oconee Co voters to cast ballots at Civic Center in Watkinsville

The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections says there will be five sites for the three days of early voting that begin next Monday, with voters in Athens casting ballots in the runoff for the District Attorney’s office: early voting Monday through Wednesday will take place at the elections office on Washington Street. The Library on Baxter Street, the Miriam Moore Community Center on McKinley Drive, the Extension Office on Cleveland Road, and the Tennis Center on Lexington Street will open for advance voting on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Three days of early voting in Oconee County take place November 23-25 at the Civic Center in Watkinsville.

The runoff that pits Democrat Deborah Gonzalez against non-partisan candidate James Chafin takes place on December 1. The winner will be DA in the Western Judicial Circuit that covers Clarke and Oconee counties.
