4-year-old boy accidentally shoots himself with father’s gun in metro Atlanta

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A 4-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself with his father’s gun, Gwinnett County police said.

Authorities said the incident occurred while the child was playing inside his father’s car and found a gun in the center console.

The boy shot himself in the finger, police officials said. He was taken to Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta for treatment.
