HANCOCK COUNTY, Ga. — Two teenage Georgia sisters were killed in a crash in Hancock County Sunday night.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on State Route 15, according to WGXA.

Georgia State Patrol said 16-year-old Alana McClain and 15-year-old Lauren McClain, of Sparta, were riding in a black Lexus with a driver who hasn’t been identified.
The driver disregarded a stop sign on Fairmont Road and entered the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer hit the passenger side of the Lexus.
Both sisters died at the scene.
Kyah Shenee, who once managed the Sparta-Hancock Public Library, said the girls were volunteers for the summer reading program and other events.
“They were the most humble and respectful children I ever encountered,” Shenee wrote on Facebook. “Young queens who were going to do great things ... Raised up in the church.”

The Lexus driver was airlifted to Augusta University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
