ATLANTA — Two Georgia colleges are partnering with Microsoft to prepare students for careers related to the state’s growing data center industry.
Atlanta Technical College and West Georgia Technical College have teamed up with Microsoft to offer training for students interested in data center jobs.
The data center academies use simulation labs to give students hands-on experience with computer networks, cybersecurity, cloud technology and managing the systems that keep data centers operating.
Microsoft says the training can help students work toward certifications, internships and careers in Georgia’s technology industry.
Students also have access to scholarships and mentoring through the programs.
The training focuses on skills used to support technology behind services ranging from online banking and streaming to artificial intelligence.
