$10M grant available to support housing needs for Georgians with low incomes

ATLANTA — Officials say a new grant will be made available to support housing needs for Georgians with low income.

The grant of $10 million is a part of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs home investment program.

The program supports local efforts to increase the opportunity for home ownership.

“This grant cycle offers up to $10 million in CHIP grants to eligible local governments, nonprofits, and public government authorities,” Georgia Department of Community Affairs officials said. “CHIP supports local efforts to address housing needs across Georgia and increase the opportunity for homeownership for low- and very low-income households. Funds are awarded through a competitive application process that estimate a community’s commitment to expanding access to safe, decent, and affordable housing for Georgia residents.”

Officials say applications must be submitted through the Emphasys online portal.
