Fourth carjacking in less than two weeks in NW Atlanta

For the fourth time in less than two weeks, someone's been carjacked in northwest Atlanta.

The latest incident happened Monday night when Brian Farnsworth agreed to give two black teenagers a ride from the Kroger on Howell Mill Road.

But the teens couldn’t decide on where they wanted to go.

After about 20 minutes, the suspects told Farnsworth to stop outside a house on St. James Drive.  When he did, one of the teens pulled a gun and demanded his Pontiac Grand Prix.

“After about five minutes they started arguing back and forth and I kind of knew I was in trouble,” Farnsworth told Channel 2 Action News.

“I guess I learned a lesson I should have learned a long time ago. Don't go out of my way to help people,” said Farnsworth.

The car was recovered Wednesday night during a traffic checkpoint on Hollywood Road.

18-year-old Antonio Johnson was driving the car. He was charged with theft by receiving stolen auto and driving without a license.  Johnson told police he rented the car for $60.00 from someone named "Jay."  Evidence in the stolen car may lead detectives to the suspects.
