A former sheriff's captain in Forsyth County faces sexual assault and battery charges after he allegedly groped a 16-year-old girl during a driving lesson.
After retiring from the sheriff's office, 73-year-old Frank Huggins served as a driving instructor at Lanier Tech. Channel 2 Action News reports he's been suspended.
The 16-year-old girl claims Huggins repeatedly touched her inner thighs during a lesson last month. Detectives confirm there is videotape of the alleged incident from a camera inside the vehicle.
Huggins denies the allegations on Facebook.
"First of all it is absolutely not true and I intend to prove that when my day in court comes. Second, I ask for your support and prayers in the days ahead,” his post reads.
While in the sheriff's office, Huggins served as public information officer. He retired in 2010.
"We actually weren't aware that it was one of our former deputies until the photo line-up," Corporal Robin Regan tells Channel 2 Action News.
Investigators encourage any other potential victims to come forward.
Huggins is free on bond.
