Geddy Kramer wanted to say something before he opened fire at the FedEx facility in Kennesaw Monday, wounding six. He said it in writing.
“There was a note,” said Cobb County Police Officer Mike Bowman. “As to what the content of it was, I don’t know. That’s all evidence in the case.”
Bowman did acknowledge that the note was helpful to investigators who are trying to figure out why a quiet, seemingly hard-working young man would go on a rampage of violence that ended with his own suicide.
“My understanding is… there’s no evidence to sustain that,” he told reporters Wednesday.
The existence of a note was one of the very few details released by police in the wake of the shooting. So was the conclusion that Kramer acted without help from anyone else – a possibility brought up early in the investigation.
Why is information on the case being doled out in such small amounts? Bowman said, even though Kramer is dead, investigators are trying to put together as complete a picture of the young suspect as possible, hopefully determining the reason for his final act of violence.
“We’re trying to give closure to the families” of both the suspect and those wounded at the FedEx plant, Bowman said. “We want them to have answers.”
