A Gwinnett County man, who was the only suspect in the murder of his wife, may be moving out of state with his two daughters.
Although Matthew Leili was named a suspect in his wife Nique's death, there was never enough evidence to charge him with anything.
In July, Nique's body was found in some woods near her home in Lawrenceville. The case was ruled a homicide, but no charges have ever been filed.
Moving trucks are in Leili's driveway and it appears he is getting ready to move to Vermont.
Gwinnett County Police Corporal Jake Smith tells Channel 2 Action News there is nothing they can do.
"As far as restricting his movements, we don't have any right or reason to do that right now," said Smith.
Nique's sister, Amy Elk, says has seen her two nieces just once since her sister's death.
"To be just completely isolated from their mother's whole family, I just, I fear for what that's going to do to them emotionally," said Elk.
In a court order in January, a judge wrote that cutting off the children from their grandparents would result in "emotional harm to the children." The order does say however, if Leili does move to Vermont, he must provide an address and telephone number upon his relocation.
"There is no recourse, so we feel very helpless," said Elk.
