CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A California man who operated a drug trafficking ring that funneled large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl into Georgia will spend nearly three decades in federal prison.
U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg confirmed that 41-year-old Wil-Fort Foster III has been sentenced to 28 years for drug trafficking and money laundering. Prosecutors say Foster used a barbershop in California as a front for his operation, regularly shipping drugs to couriers in Georgia, including in Cartersville.
“It was typical for this ring to supply dozens of kilograms at the time of methamphetamine, as well as large amounts of fentanyl to their couriers,” Hertzberg said.
The drugs were distributed through stash houses in Georgia, and the proceeds were laundered and sent back to California.
At least five individuals from Georgia have pleaded guilty in connection with the case. One of them, 43-year-old Steven Ham of Cartersville, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
