Former sheriff convicted in killing of election opponent dies in prison

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Former DeKalb County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey, who was convicted of ordering the killing of the man he lost re-election to in 2000, has died in prison.

Dorsey was serving a life sentence for the murder of Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown.

He was 86 years old.
