DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A former DeKalb County deputy has pleaded guilty to having sex with an inmate.
Officials say 28-year old Joann Marks was sentenced to 12 years with two to serve in confinement.
She was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate, whose identity was not released.
Official say Marks admitted to the affair after a search of the inmate’s cell in April of 2024 led to the discovery of a cell phone and cigarettes.
