Former Atlanta police officer indicted in beating death of her dog

ATLANTA — A former Atlanta police officer is facing serious charges after investigators say she beat her dog to death.

A grand jury indictment accuses Zabria Bridges of intentionally breaking her lab-mix’s bones. Investigators say the dog’s spleen was also badly disfigured before it died.

Bridges resigned from the Atlanta Police Department shortly before her arrest. She is charged with three counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
