Baby taken from Georgia hotel found safe, father charged with kidnapping

5-month-old taken The Rome Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s help to locate a child who was taken by a non-custodial parent and is believed to be in danger.

ROME, GA — A five-month-old baby who police say was taken from a motel in Rome, Georgia overnight has been found safe.

Police say the child’s father, 23-year-old Julio Mazzo will face kidnapping charges. Police add Mazzo did not have custody of the baby.

Police asked for the public’s help finding Harley Sparks, fearing for the safety of the infant after police officials say Mazzo took the child from the OYO Hotel just before 5 a.m.

Police say the child was found unharmed just after 6 am.
