Police search for suspect stealing iPhone 7's

Duluth police and the FBI are still searching for a man wanted for holding up two cell phone stores in search of iPhone 7's.

The same suspect is believed to have hit both the T-Mobile and AT&T stores within a block of each other on Pleasant Hill Road.

“He came in with the same-looking gun, same-looking guy. So, it’s the same person,” says Duluth Police Det. Ted Sadowski.

He says the man demands only iPhone 7 Plus devices be placed in his backpack.

Jason Lee, who works at T-Mobile, complied with the demand. But believes the suspect was not very experienced as a criminal.

“Once that I noticed that he’s kind of nervous, I wasn’t that scared. But you don’t know what happens, so I just gave him what he wants,” he says.

The suspect is described as black with a slender build and in his mid to late 20’s. He was wearing dark jogging pants with vertical white stripes and carrying a black backpack with orange interior.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
