Police search for men who broke into Foot Locker

Atlanta Police are hoping surveillance video will help find those responsible for driving through a Foot Locker and stealing shoes and clothing.

Officer John Chafee tells WSB it happened around 2:45 Monday morning at the store on Metropolitan Parkway.

"Upon viewing security footage from the building, they found that a Dodge Intrepid had backed up, striking the front of the business and approximately 15 people entered inside the business and stole clothing and shoes from inside," said Chafee.

The crash damaged a brick front wall as well as the front glass and burglar bars.

Chafee says the suspects abandoned the Intrepid in the parking lot.  It appears the suspects left in a red Chevy pickup truck.  It was determined that the Dodge Intrepid was actually stolen previously out of Clayton County.

"I'm not sure if they were watching it or anything like that, but it looks like they did know what they were looking for.  Once they went inside, they were very quick in being in and out and taking what they got," said Chafee.

He says there have been similar crimes and they are trying to determine if they are linked.
