Police impersonator arrested with 80 guns

He was convicted ten years ago of impersonating a police officer.

Now a Douglasville man is back in jail, charged with stealing an arsenal of weapons.

31 year old Shaun Dee Pruitt is accused of breaking into a Douglas County home and making off with the 100 guns.  He's charged with burglary along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff, they received a call that someone had gotten into the home and made off with as many as 100 weapons.  After talking with the homeowner deputies determined that Pruitt had been in the area and had mentioned the guns to someone.

Pruitt also faced probation violation charges in North Carolina.

After obtaining a search warrant investigators were able to located more than 80 guns.  Almost two dozen are still unaccounted for.

Pruitt had been convicted in December of 2003 on charges of impersonating an officer.  He also was convicted in October of 2008 of five counts of burglary and was sentenced to three years.

In all, Pruitt has more 17 arrests leading the judge in his latest case to deny bond.
