Man attacked high school student on her way to school

Sandy Springs police have released a composite sketch of a man who attacked a high school student on her way to school last week.

The 15-year old told police she bumped into the man in the breezeway of an apartment complex off Summit Springs Drive.  The man grabbed her, pinned her against a wall and slashed her leg with a knife.

Sandy Springs Police Captain Steve Rose says the cut was not deep and the victim was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as a black male 6’0” tall, thin, with a small mustache and bushy eyebrows. He appears to be in his late 20’s and was wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and black shoes.

Rose says, "Perhaps with a composite that person, if he lives in that area, someone will recognize it."

Anyone with information concerning the identity of this male is requested to contact Det. D. Lapides at 770-551-6933.
