An elderly Carrolton man's jailed without bond for molesting a stranger's child at Wal-Mart.
The Times-Georgian reports 75-year-old Roy Lee Johnson allegedly touched the 6-year-old girl inappropriately after spotting her in the toy aisle Wednesday. Her mom shouted for help and an off-duty officer detained Johnson until uniformed police arrived.
Johnson's family claims he has Alzheimer's and this behavior is uncharacteristic, but he was arrested two years ago on similar charges. He allegedly fondled a 3-year-old boy in a grocery cart at the Carrolton Food Depot.
At that time, the case was placed on dead docket, but the district attorney's office may seek to actively prosecute it now.
