He was once a leading legal force in the war against illegal drugs. Now, an Atlanta lawyer is once again accused of using drugs himself.
“I’ve been doing this pushing 30 years now and I don’t recollect this type of incident happening in a court of law,” said Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds, talking about the bizarre courtroom behavior last week that landed attorney Rand Csehy in jail for five days on a contempt charge.
“Her honor had observed what she termed some erratic behavior by a member of the bar,” Reynolds told WSB’s Pete Combs, referring to Csehy.
Judge Adele Grubbs ordered Csehy to undergo a urine test and based on that, sent him to jail. Although the former prosecutor, busted in 2012 for possession of methamphetamines and Ecstasy, is now out of jail, he’s now under criminal investigation, according to the DA. Csehy could still face criminal charges.
