Cobb police: Woman stabs bus driver

Cobb County Police have arrested a woman after they say she stabbed a bus driver.

Officer Michael Bowman tells WSB they were asked to respond to a stabbing Monday afternoon on a CCT bus at Town Center Mall.

"A female passenger on the CCT bus had asked another passenger to borrow their cell phone.  When that passenger's stop came up, he asked for his cell phone back.  When she refused to give it back to him, a verbal altercation took place between her and the owner of the phone," said Bowman.

Bowman says things really turned ugly when the bus driver went back there to break up the fight.

"The female pulled out a knife against the bus driver.  They subdued her and were able to get the knife from her.  She grabbed a pen from the bus driver's pocket and stabbed him a couple of times," said Bowman.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The woman was arrested on aggravated assault charges.
